AcaParenting Fall Series, Session 1: Who cares for the caregivers in the age of COVID-19? Roundtable Discussion

Title Page.jpg

Join us for a series of three events addressing the unique challenges faced by academic parents and caregivers! Erika Zimmermann Damer will facilitate the following sessions along with other academic caregivers in the field. The conversations and workshops will be interactive and address the needs of parents and caregivers working in academia.

The first event in the series is:

Who cares for the caregivers in the age of COVID-19? Roundtable Discussion - September 24, 2021; 12:00-1:30 PM EST

Topic: Exhortations to self-care often ignore the absence of meaningful support for academic parents and caregivers, especially during the pandemic. This roundtable will offer a welcoming space to articulate the unique needs and challenges of parenting, caregiving, and being an academic during a pandemic, and to share strategies for self-and community-based care that can help.

Panelists: Erika Zimmermann Damer (facilitator), Melissa Funke, Yurie Hong, Suzanne Lye, Melissa Mueller

*Registration is free for members. Non-members can register for $10.00. Registrants gain entry into all three events in the series with registration. Participants are not required to attend all three events.
