November Reading Group: Disability and the Ancient World, co-hosted by WCC & CripAntiquity

How do we talk about disability in the ancient world?

Join us for the WCC's November Reading Group, co-hosted with CripAntiquity, as we discuss some of the ways that our field can engage with the idea of disability and identity in the Greco-Roman world.

The focus of the reading group discussion will be a set of articles, including the SCS Blog's Brief Guide to Disability Terminology and Theory in Ancient World Studies and three additional articles. Click here for the additional readings.

CripAntiquity is an international advocacy organization for disabled and neurodivergent students, teachers, scholars, staff, artists, and writers in ancient studies. Their mission is to combat ableism by amplifying disabled and neurodivergent perspectives; creating resources that will empower individuals and transform institutions; and fostering community among our members.

Facilitators: Alexandra Morris, Alicia Matz, Justin Biggi
